ISPP Option

Individualized Supervised Practice Program (ISPP) Track

ISPPs are a unique route for those who hold a PhD in Nutrition to obtain supervised practice and sit for the RDN exam. This will entail seeking an additional 1-2 clinical, and potentially community and foodservice systems management sites each program year. As part of the ISPP, we have developed a process to assess the body of knowledge and experience which applicants bring with them, called an Assessment of Prior Learning process. Interns accepted into the University of Minnesota Dietetic Internship Program (DI) may request an assessment of prior learning (APL) in order to be waived from part or all of a supervised experiential learning experience after acceptance into the program.

Currently, priority consideration will be given to doctoral graduates of the University of Minnesota Department of Food Science and Nutrition to become Registered Dietitian Nutritionists.
