Computer Match Application

**April 2023: See the updated deadlines below to take part in the second round matching process**

Computer Match Application Instructions

We accept applications for Spring Computer Match for Fall DI Program placements.

For detailed eligibility criteria, see our Admissions webpage.

In addition to the DICAS core application requirements, please provide the following items:

  • Personal Statement - an engaging and concise statement sharing your interests, career goals, and demonstrated alignment with our program and practice area(s).
    • In 1,200 words or less, tell us more about you by addressing the following in your statement:
      • Why are you interested in the dietetics profession?
      • What are your short- and long-term goals?
      • What are your reasons for applying to our program and ED-TEP/MNT concentration?
        • Note: you may indicate interest in both concentrations in your second-round application personal  statement. If doing so, please indicate your first choice.
      • What are your top strengths?
      • What areas have you identified as needing improvement?
      • What challenges do you anticipate encountering while in the U of M DI Program?
      • Identify what makes you a top candidate for our program’s Medical Nutrition Therapy / Eating Disorders concentration.
      • Please indicate whether you have 1) already completed a graduate degree (please give degree program  and institution and date conferred (or to be conferred), or 2) are to be considered for the 1-year non thesis master's program at the University of Minnesota to be completed before the DI verification statement would be awarded
  • Three references - our preference: two from your academic setting (i.e., faculty members or instructors) and one from a work or volunteer supervisor, preferably a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
    • However, if that combination is not feasible, use your best judgment to seek out professional references that can best highlight your demonstrated abilities and professional characteristics. Keep in mind, co-workers, fellow students, or family members are not appropriate to write professional letters of recommendation.
